It takes the natural energy characteristics of infrared, which is absorbed and stored as heat by the fabric of a building, even further. By constantly monitoring the room, Ambion’s bespoke software adjusts its pulsing and phasing routine to maintain the ambient temperature while using minimal electricity.

What is infrared heat?

Infrared radiation is a type of invisible electromagnetic radiation which, when absorbed by an object, excites the molecules inside causing them to vibrate and warm up.

Is infrared safe?

Infrared heating is completely safe, as the human body is designed to accept and emit infrared - in fact, it’s the same type of heat emitted by the human body itself. Many people find the feeling of warmth provided by infrared particularly comfortable, as it feels like standing in direct sunlight. Unlike sunlight, however, infrared doesn’t contain UV, so it’s not harmful to human health.

Are there maintenance & servicing costs for Ambion’s heating system?

You can rely on your Ambion system for the long term, because there are no moving parts or liquid/gas fuels that necessitate regular service and maintenance. The system comes with a 10-year warranty - double that of a conventional boiler - and has a service life of 33 years compared to a conventional boiler’s typical lifespan of 10-15 years.

How efficient is Ambion’s heating system compared with other electric alternatives?

Ambion’s technology provides the same levels of comfort within a room using 60% less energy than a standard electric convection system and 3% less than ASHPs. This reduced consumption rate means that carbon emissions are also more than 60% lower than traditional systems.
